Merseyside sexual assault: Woman attacked by man on walk home ‘fought him off twice’ – latest news

The victim was walking home from a Wirral, Merseyside, train station when she was grabbed by the predator. 

The attacks happened between Spital train station and Kinglass Road before 11pm on Saturday.

It is understood the woman bravely fought off her attacker twice during the harrowing encounter. 

The Liverpool Echo reported the man attacked her once before fleeing on a bike.

But, moments later, he returned and attacked the woman again and once more she managed to fend him off. 

Thankfully, the woman was not harmed during the disturbing attack. 

A police spokesman said: “We were contacted at just after 11pm last night following reports a woman was sexually assaulted close to Spital train station in Wirral. 

“The woman reported she was approached from behind by an unknown male and assaulted between Spital train station and Kinglass Road. 

“The man then made off on a pushbike. 

“The woman was not injured by was left shaken by her ordeal. 

“The man is described as being white, in his late 20s or early 30s, of skinny build with a shaved head and stubble. He was wearing a blue hooded top.” 

Detective Inspector Tara Denn said: “The investigation is in its early stages but I would appeal to anyone who was in the vicinity of Spital station at around 11pm last night or saw a man fitting the description to contact us.”
